Bernardo Lopes is a Portuguese director, screenwriter, and producer. His short films Lux, Ivan, Eva, and Moço have received multiple awards and international recognition, including a Sophia Award for Best Fiction Short Film and selection
for Les Nuits en Or by the French Film Academy. He was selected for Locarno’s Match Me! in 2023 as an emerging European producer and is currently completing his first fiction feature, Tomorrow’s Rain.

Bukra (documentary) - directed by Diana Antunes, 90 min, Portugal/Palestine; producer. Premiere planned for 2026. Set in Jenin Refugee Camp, Bukra showcases a community resisting oppression through art, unity, and hope.
Faraway Land (fiction) - directed by Bernardo Lopes, 90 min, Portugal; director and producer. Premiere planned for 2026. In Portugal, Jon Luz became a central figure in traditional Cape Verdean music.
Tomorrow’s Rain (fiction) - directed by Bernardo Lopes, 118 min, Portugal/Brazil, Premiere planned for 2026; director, scriptwriter and producer. A summer day in the life of a family in ruins, in the forgotten Algarve.
The River Before the Curve (documentary) - directed by Renan Brandão, in development; producer. Premiere planned for 2027. The film reunites three factory workers killed in the strike in Volta Redonda.
The Missing Place (documentary) - directed by Mariana de Melo, in development; producer. Premiere planned for 2027. A creative non-fiction that begins with the history of mining in the region to reveal the effects of extractivism.
