About
Isabella Karhu is an award-winning filmmaker who studied filmmaking at the LAB Institute of Design and Fine Arts. After her graduation, she founded Danish Bear Productions together with her fellow colleague Juho-Pekka Tanskanen in 2015. She is also an active member of the Finnish Documentary Guild and used to sit on its board. Her films have premiered at festivals such as Sundance, CPH:DOX and Göteborg Film Festival. Her aim is to produce high-quality creative films with strong artistic values.

The Last Misfits by The Golden Rive (documentary) - Directed by Juho-Pekka Tanskanen, in post-production; producer. Premiere planned for 2024. A film about land, generation gaps and things ending.
Hello Friend (animation) - Directed by Isabella Karhu and Joonas Niemi, in post-production; director and producer. Premiere planned for 2024. A short animation of a lonely little girl.
How We Die (documentary) - Directed by Rabbe Sandström, in development; producer. Premiere planned for 2026. A film that follows the journey of hospice volunteers.
