Before turning to filmmaking, Max, as a journalist, collaborated with various film trade magazines in Moscow and Europe. He also participated in the production of several shorts screened at festivals from Berlin to Abu Dhabi. In 2012, Max, together with Maria Gavrilova, founded a production company in Tallinn, focusing on documentaries and debuts. His first project was experimental docudrama I Don’t Love You by Kostomarov/Rastorguev that screened at various festivals.
